Job summary

You will coordinate rabies control programs, work with county officials, supervise investigations and court readiness, and ensure compliance with DEA drug handling and animal welfare

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of animal services operations and regulations.
• Experience with budget planning and staff supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; public speaking ability.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements a prevention program for Rabies Control including vaccination clinics; promotion projects; flyers, school presentations, and scheduled patrols of the county.
• Oversees the care and handling of animals received from the public or picked up/captured in the field.
• Resolves complaints from the public.
• Advises local and County Officials regarding animal services practices and state/local laws.
• Plans and schedules patrols; assists officers in problem areas; supervises court readiness and testimony.
