The University of Southern California, Department of Animal Resources is seeking a reliable, dependable, self-motivated, and responsible individual for the position of Animal Laboratory Technician. The department is dedicated to providing optimal animal care for animals housed at the university for biomedical research and teaching purposes.
The Animal Laboratory Technicians are responsible for daily animal care (cleaning, feeding, watering), facility cleaning and sanitation, documenting environmental conditions, and observing animal health and welfare to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines. The position requires basic computer skills, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and standing for most of the day. Technicians must work on a schedule, including weekends and holidays, with rotations across USC campuses as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent; combined experience/education can substitute. Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, with combined education/experience acceptable.
Associate Degree; 2 years of experience; Assistant ALT Certification; experience in veterinary hospitals, kennels, or research labs; animal handling skills.
