Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking an Animal Husbandry Technician II to support our government customer at the USAISR, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

The role involves daily animal husbandry for various species, cage preparation, feeding, routine health observations, and adherence to SOPs. Candidates should have 2–4 years of lab experience, ALAT certification, US citizenship, and a preferred bachelor’s degree. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• ALAT certification from AALAS is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 2–4 years of laboratory animal husbandry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform animal husbandry duties for small and large animals daily.
• Prepare and change animal cages, feeding and watering.
• Follow ABSL II procedures in holding and procedure rooms.
• Operate cage wash equipment according to SOPs.
• Maintain logs, checklists, and records for husbandry activities.
• Provide environmental enrichment and track inventory.

Skills

Lab experience 2-4 years

DoD environment experience

Education

ALAT Certification (AALAS)
