Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Boston, MA seeks an experienced Operations Manager for the CRADL Insourcing Solutions team to oversee facilities, staff and client engagements.

You will partner with senior management to meet short- and long-term goals for the CRADL organization, lead IACUC activities, manage budgets, and coordinate with veterinary and EH&S teams to ensure compliance and welfare across sites.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a laboratory animal facility or related animal care environment, including at least five (5) years of supervisory or management experience.
• Associates degree and minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a laboratory animal facility or related animal care environment, including at least five (5) years of supervisory or management experience.
• Bachelors degree and minimum eight (8) years in a laboratory animal facility of which five (5) years is management or supervisory experience.
• AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT), Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG), or Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMAR) level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily husbandry and staff; ensure client standards and expectations.
• Lead personnel actions, performance reviews, coaching and recruitment efforts.
• Communicate with clients; present site capabilities and tour prospective clients.
• Manage site budgets, capital expenditures and forecasting.
• Lead IACUC activities and site audits; ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Ensure safety policies and EH&S coordination; maintain SOPs and procedures.
