Job summary

The City of Euclid is seeking an Animal Control Officer in the Police Department to enforce Ohio laws and city ordinances on dog licensing, impounding, and animal violations. You will work under the Animal Control Supervisor and handle duties including capturing stray animals, impounding, feeding, medicating, and assisting with euthanasia where needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, two years in animal control or related work, a valid driver's license, and a preference

• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Capture and impound unlicensed, stray and uncontrolled animals.
• Cage or secure animals and deliver to shelter.
• Supply food, water and personal care to detained animals.
• Clean, medicate, vaccinate animals in need of such services.
• Issue warnings or summonses to delinquent dog owners.
• Assist in euthanasia and disposal of animals.
• Investigate animal-related complaints.
• Perform other related duties as required.
