Job summary

JBS USA in Dalhart, TX seeks an Animal Care Technician 2 to join our swine farming team. You will learn and perform essential husbandry tasks, assist with farrowing and breeding, and maintain biosecurity on the farm. The role requires teamwork, reliability, and willingness to work weekends/holidays on a rotating basis.

Training will be provided with a 90-day review; a BS in Animal Science is preferred, MS Office skills helpful, and a valid driver’s license is required for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or equivalent.
• MS Office experience, including Excel, is helpful.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of Sow farm management, welfare standards, biosecurity.
• Team oriented, self-motivated with strong work ethic.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

• Assist with farrowing (birth) and breeding (artificial insemination).
• Vaccinating and medicating sows and piglets.
• Handling and using chemicals; cleaning, afterbirth, dead pigs, scraping.
• Loading and unloading pigs as scheduled; maintain farm cleanliness.
• Adhere to all biosecurity standards including showering in and out of facilities.
