Job summary

VetEvolve is seeking a Kennel Attendant for Tazewell Pike Animal Clinic in Corryton, TN. The role supports daily hospital operations and animal care, providing feeding, walking, and monitoring of boarded pets. You will assist veterinarians and technicians and help maintain a clean, caring environment.

The position requires a high school diploma, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with pets up to 150 pounds. A flexible schedule to cover all hours the practice is open is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in kennel or animal care preferred.
• Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and compassionate animal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for boarded animals, including feeding, watering, walking, bathing, and monitoring behavior and health.
• Safely transport animals between kennels, exam rooms, and the lobby with gentle handling.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with restraint, positioning, and minor procedures as directed.
• Follow feeding, medication, and exercise instructions for boarding pets.
• Monitor and report health or behavioral changes to kennel leadership/medical team promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, runs, and facility areas.
• Greet owners and support a positive client experience during the boarding process.
• Assist in completing opening/closing and cleaning checklists.
• Manage inventory of cleaning and kennel supplies; report replenishment needs.
• Unpack deliveries and restock treatment/exam areas; remove expired items.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth hospital operations.
