Job summary

Georgetown University’s Division of Comparative Medicine seeks an Animal Care Technician II to support animal husbandry operations and research. You will provide high-quality care, monitor health, keep records, and ensure safe handling of animals and equipment in accordance with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of animal husbandry or related animal care experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in hot or steamy environments; exposure to biological hazards, chemicals, and laboratory animals.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and specialized care for laboratory animals, including feeding, medicating, cleaning, restraining, and transporting animals.
• Monitor animal health and welfare through daily observations and maintain accurate records per SOPs.
• Clean and sanitize animal facilities and equipment; repair animal caging and support equipment as needed.
