Job Summary

We are seeking anAnimal Care Technician Ito join our Insourcing Solutionsteam, locatedin Cambridge, MA.

As the Animal Care Technician I, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to perform daily animal health observations, as well as animal husbandry and cagewash duties, to maintain quality and health of research animals.

Additional Responsibilities Include

  • Supply food and water for research animals.
  • Maintain accurate records of things like animal housing, animal health and necessary supplies.
  • Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species.
  • Clean and provide animal housing and associated materials/equipment within assigned animal rooms.
  • Support cagewash equipment operations and maintenance, and general vivarium housekeeping, when required.
  • Perform minor clinical treatments as ordered by Veterinarian.
  • Maintain and perform housekeeping of facility support areas.
  • Perform euthanasia of animals

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician I position:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of related animal care/husbandry experience
  • ALAT certification preferred

The pay range for this position is $21-22 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
