Job Summary

We are looking for anAnimal Care Technician Ito join our Insourcing Solutionsteam, locatedin Cambridge, MA.

In theAnimal Care Technician 1role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to monitor, observe, and record animal health and welfare daily, as well as complete various standard animal husbandry duties.

  • Maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing.
  • Follow all procedures to maintain housing areas, including room or facility personnel entry; personnel protective equipment use, spraying in all equipment and materials into controlled areas.
  • Receive, inspect, and putaway incoming animals; and operating equipment following all safety guidelines.
  • You may also be involved in the breeding and weaning program, performing various duties from weaning and sexing, to ensuring appropriate production levels are met.
  • Work cooperatively with the on-site supervisor and/or facility veterinarian to assist with restraint, handling and manipulation of various animal species to include mice, rats and other rodents and possibly rabbits.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent required.
  • Six (6) to twelve (12) months related experience in animal husbandry.
  • Interest in achieving ALAT certification upon eligibility

The pay range for this position is$23-25 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
