POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide care for puppies' nutritional, behavioral, environmental, and maintenance needs.
  • Perform opening, daily, and closing procedures in the kennel.
  • Complete cleaning checklists to ensure cleanliness.
  • Monitor the health of puppies and kittens daily and keep proper records.
  • Ensure proper pet nutrition, socialization, and cleaning.
  • Assist veterinarian with examinations, care, and medications.
  • Train and coach less experienced Animal Care Technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related experience/training, or equivalent.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Standing and walking continually required.
  • Sitting occasionally.
  • Occasional travel.
  • Frequent use of hand and finger dexterity.
  • Climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling frequently.
  • Talking and hearing continually required.
  • Visual acuity for operating equipment and reading.
  • Occasional lifting over 50 lbs., with frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
