Job description

Hatteras Island Pet Resort has an immediate opening for an Animal Care Technician. We are currently looking for 15-20 hours a week, with 30+ hours a week in the summer and the potential for year-round full-time employment for the right person. Availability at least one weekend day (Saturday and/or Sunday) is a must. Pay starts at $15/hour.

Requirements:

1. 18+
2. Valid Driver's License
3. Reliable Transportation
4. Ability to lift 40+ lbs unassisted
5. Ability to remain calm under pressure

Preferred:

1. Customer Service Experience
2. Experience working with animals
3. Availability 1-3 evenings a week

The work environment is loud and sometimes smelly, and you will need to be on your feet a lot, including spending time outside in heat, cold, and rain. There is always laundry to do and dishes to clean, as well as animal messes to clean up. This is a physically and emotionally demanding job.
