Qualifications

• Equivalent to four years high school or GED with emphasis in office skills, Vet.Tech. or related areas.
• 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License, Euthanasia Technician License, Chemical Capture Certification, ACIC/NCIC Certification, CJIS Certification

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects kennels daily.
• Feeds and waters animals daily.
• Performs intake, medical evaluation, vaccinations, and basic treatments.
• Prepares animals for adoption daily.
• Cleans equipment and kennels; performs routine maintenance.
• Assists with euthanasia and sedation as needed.
• Operates grounds maintenance tools and city vehicle as needed.
• Oversees volunteers and inmate labor as required.
• Supports dispatch desk duties and criminal history checks when needed.
• Transports and disposes of deceased animals as required.
• Posts animals on Facebook and informs the public about lost/adoptable pets.
• Researches ACIC/NCIC and local databases to reunite pets with owners.
• Monitors animal medications and inventory; reports needs.
• Performs any related duties as required.
