Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School in Danvers, MA is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Companion Animals Program to support the lead instructor across animal health, nutrition, behavior, grooming, and husbandry. The TA will work with dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, and fish and help guide students toward careers in the animal industry.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of field experience, a high school diploma, and pass SAFIS/CORI/SORI checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of field experience required.
• Satisfactory SAFIS, CORI, and SORI background checks.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assists the Teacher in the administration of instruction in traditional and non traditional settings.
• Assist the Teacher in the preparation of lessons and other related learning materials.
• Integrates the basic principles of child development to complement learning goals.
• Redirects and adapts students who are observed having difficulties towards the appropriate classroom resources.
• Builds formidable and educationally appropriate relationships with students.
• Implements appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
• Performs other duties as required and assumes such other responsibilities as the Coordinator or their Designee may assign.
