Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Angio/Interventional tech II to perform advanced interventional procedures with supervision and provide preceptorship for staff. You will proctor, coach, and participate in developing care models for complex interventions.

The role requires ARRT/VIR credentials, 5–10 years of experience, and ability to work independently within a collaborative imaging team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in performing advanced interventional procedures with recommendation from care site lead Radiologist.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Angio/Interventional Radiology with VIR certification OR minimum 10 years of experience in Angio/Interventional Radiology.
• Proficient in at least 5 advanced interventional procedures and therapies, including Neurovascular interventions, Advanced Liver interventions, Pulmonary interventions, and Limb salvage Atherectomy.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other caregivers and patients.
• Demonstrates understanding of anatomy, pathology, and patient positioning related to interventional procedures.
• ARRT - American Registry Upon Hire Required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• ACLS - Within 120 Days Required for non-pediatric hospitals.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced within 120 Days Required for pediatric hospitals only.
• Relevant state licensure and/or certifications Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

• Meets all requirements for Angio/Interventional Tech and,
• As a defined preceptor, orient new Angio Interventionalist caregivers, provide teaching, coaching, mentoring and provide direct supervision.
• Proctors other staff including specialized equipment and procedural techniques.
• Participants in the development and implementation of care process models for Advanced Interventionalist: Fulfills role of first assistant and scrubs a minimum of 50 advanced interventional procedures per year.
• Develops education and orientation materials regarding emerging technologies and proctors staff to establish proficiency.
• Establishes and maintains quality control standards.
• Must be able to adhere to on-call expectations, including minimum response times for stroke centers and trauma designated hospitals.
