Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration in Columbia, SC seeks a physician anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive anesthesia services across the OR, PACU, ICU, and clinic settings. You will work under the Chief of Anesthesia to deliver safe perioperative care to veteran patients and participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• English proficiency is required for clinical and collaboration duties.
• MD or DO degree from an approved school is required.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US.
• Residency in anesthesiology with eligibility for board certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care in OR, PACU, ICU, and clinic settings as needed.
• Perform general, neuraxial, and regional anesthesia; manage perioperative care.
• Assess and optimize patient conditions before, during, and after anesthesia.
• Supervise staff and participate in CME, quality improvement, and research activities.
• Participate in on-call duties as required by the department.
