Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville is recruiting a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) to join our team and support surgeons, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs in delivering high‑quality patient care. The role offers a full‑time schedule with day shifts, competitive compensation, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant training program certified in the specialty of anesthesiology.
• Must meet Medical Staff Office privileges requirements to practice as a CAA at UF Health Shands Hospital and/or Shands UF Healthcare Network.
• Current Florida CAA license and Basic Life Support certification (BLS) are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively under the supervision of staff anesthesiologists.

Responsibilities

In this role, the Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant will manage patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively under the supervision of staff anesthesiologists.

Schedule

FTE: 1.0

Shift Hours: 0700-1730

Days of Week: Monday-Friday

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant training program certified in the specialty of anesthesiology

Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an Anesthesiologist Assistant within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current and clear license as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) in the state of Florida. Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
