Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Masters prepared specialty Anesthesiologist Assistant to work under the direction of a licensed anesthesiologist. You will administer anesthesia protocols and follow up on post-care, with the supervising anesthesiologist responsible for activities of the assistant.

Limited to select locations based on unique workplace dynamics, the role emphasizes patient safety and collaboration with the anesthesiology team to deliver high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Anesthesiologist Assistant.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Certification: AA-C.

Responsibilities

• Administers anesthesia under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist.
• Administers prescribed anesthetic with focus on cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic health of the patient.
• Monitors and adjusts vasoactive infusions and other drugs.
• Consults with anesthesiologist for induction, extubation, and perioperative events.
• Establishes a comprehensive patient database to assist in anesthetic planning.
• Orders pre-op evaluations and pre-medications after consult with the anesthesiologist.
• Assists in post-operative management and ventilator support.
