Job summary
Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston, Maine seeks an experienced Anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive perioperative anesthesia care. Responsibilities include preoperative evaluation, individualized anesthesia planning, intraoperative management, and postoperative care.
Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, nurses, and other professionals to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Compensation includes full benefits and sign-on considerations; relocation may be available.
Qualifications
- MD/DO degree and residency in Anesthesiology.
- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
- Active medical license required.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive preoperative evaluations and assess patients' anesthesia-related risks.
- Develop individualized anesthesia plans based on patient history and procedure.
- Administer general, regional, neuraxial, and monitored anesthesia care as appropriate.
- Monitor vitals, airway, cardiovascular status, respiratory function, and level of consciousness throughout procedures.
- Manage complex airway and intraoperative emergencies; respond to events.
- Provide postoperative pain management and recovery evaluation.
- Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs/NPs/PAs, nurses and healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families about anesthesia risks and expectations.
