ANESTHESIOLOGIST
SITE OF SERVICE:
·New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) – Albuquerque, NM
·Full Time
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
·Education: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
·Accreditation: Degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
·Internship/Residency: Successful completion of residency program through one of the following:
·Certification: Board Certified /Board Eligible in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
·Cardiac Certifications: Must have the following hands-on certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross:
·Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
·Licensure:
·Liability Insurance: The Federal Tort Claims Act does not cover Contractor or Contractor’s physician(s). When a Contractor or Contractor’s physician(s) has been identified as a provider in a tort claim, the Contractor shall be responsible for notifying their legal counsel and/or insurance carrier.
·U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen.
·English Language Requirement: Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.
·Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
DUTIES:
HOURS:
Monday through Thursday 06:30-15:00 and Friday 07:30-16:30. May require in hour and night shift on occasion.
Base Down Days:
During a planned closure of the facility due to training, closures before or after holidays family down days, Employee will only be compensated for the actual hours worked. If clinic is closed and employee is not able to work, employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
