BluePearl Pet Hospital in Framingham, MA is seeking a passionate Veterinary Technician to join our anesthesia team in a brand new hospital. You will support anesthesia planning and perioperative care for diverse cases, with a 4x10 schedule and rotating on-call expectations.

The role offers competitive hourly pay from $24.25 to $49.00 depending on experience and credentials, with eligibility for compensation upgrades for VTS credentialed staff and ongoing professional development.

Job description

Our Anesthesia team is growing here at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Framingham, MA! We’re currently seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at our brand new hospital!

Schedule:

4x10 schedule with rotating on-call expectations

Pay:

$24.25 - $49.00 / hour

_ This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. _

As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Assistin patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, andmake appropriate interventions.
• Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance.
• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rateand effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
• Set up intravenous fluidsand CRI’s.
• Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals,difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Comfortable with medical math.
• Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery)
• Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
• Disconnect and connect patientsfrom intravenous fluids aseptically.
• Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
