CCBC seeks an adjunct faculty member to provide clinical and didactic instruction in its Nursing-Anesthesia program at Dundalk and Essex campuses. The role emphasizes current anesthesia practices, evidence-based teaching, and student-centered learning in a diverse college environment.

The candidate will deliver didactic and clinical instruction, participate in curriculum development, and maintain currency in practice.

Qualifications

• Licensed anesthesiologist/CRNA/Cer.A.T.T. with required degree
• Minimum 3 years of clinical anesthesia experience
• Experience in college teaching preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and ensure active teaching techniques for diverse students
• Provide academic support to students and review courses/curriculum
• Develop syllabi aligned with program and college policies
• Participate in department meetings and professional development
• Maintain currency in anesthesia practice and classroom conduct
• Attend to labs scheduling and prep/cleanup as needed
• Adapt teaching to feedback from supervisors, peers and students
• Conduct didactic and/or clinical instruction and simulations as appropriate

This adjunct faculty position is expected to provide clinical education as organized by the CCBC Nursing Program.

Campus Locations: Dundalk, Essex

Licensed anesthesiologist (with a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree), or licensed registered nurse anesthetist (with a Master’s degree in Anesthesia Nursing or higher) or a certified anesthesia technologist (certified by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologist and Technicians [Cer.A.T.T.] with an Associate degree or higher)andthree (3) years of clinical experience performing anesthesia practices required. Prior college teaching experience preferred.

1. Assure assigned lectures are current and contain active teaching techniques to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
2. Provide academic support to students struggling.
3. Participate in the review of courses and curriculum.
4. Perfect teaching skills by using supervisor, peer, and student feedback.
5. Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab, including preparatory and clean‑up times for labs, if applicable.
6. Attend department meetings and participate in professional development.
7. Abides by College-wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct.
8. Maintain currency in the area of practice.
9. Develop a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies.
