Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA seeks an Anesthesia Technician PRN to support the anesthesia team and surgical staff, ensuring equipment is ready and procedures run safely.

You will assist with transfers, positioning, and monitoring devices, while maintaining carts and sterile supplies for efficient operations.

In emergencies, respond quickly and confidently, upholding infection prevention standards and patient privacy throughout the surgical journey.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Nursing assistant training or 6 months experience as a nursing assistant preferred.
  • Previous experience in an operating room or hospital setting preferred.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider required.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and organizing anesthesia equipment and supplies by reviewing surgery schedules and planning for what the team will need.
  • Setting up, transporting, and maintaining anesthesia carts and equipment to keep all supplies clean and ready for safe use
  • Helping patients by assisting with transfers, positioning, preparation, and applying non-invasive monitoring devices
  • Acting quickly and confidently if an emergency happens
  • Keeping the environment clean and safe by following infection prevention and safety practices
  • Speaking openly with patients, families, and your team, always protecting patient privacy and advocating for patient rights

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Anesthesia Technician, you will work closely with the anesthesia team and surgical staff to help every procedure go safely and smoothly. You will play a key role in keeping equipment ready, supporting patient care, and helping create a safe, comfortable environment throughout the surgical journey.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Preparing and organizing anesthesia equipment and supplies by reviewing surgery schedules and planning for what the team will need

What qualifications you will need:
