Job summary

Chippenham Hospital is seeking an Advanced Patient Care Technician to assist nurses in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. You will observe patients, document changes, and communicate with the nursing team while performing advanced tasks under supervision.

The role includes phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, IV/catheter care, wound care, and assistance with lab samples and clerical duties to ensure smooth operations and patient safety.

• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be an important part of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Under the guidance of a registered nurse, you will perform advanced clinical tasks and help create a safe, welcoming environment where patients and families feel valued and respected.

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• 1+ years experience acute patient care experience in a healthcare facility is preferred
• Completion of training and demonstration of competency in one or more specialized functions within scope Required
• CNA, LNA, or EMT Training Program, or Military Medic Training preferred
