Job summary

Penn Medicine in Philadelphia seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia care team in the operating suites by maintaining equipment and supplies and restocking stands. You will demonstrate technical knowledge of anesthesia delivery systems and assist in preparing invasive monitoring setups, responding quickly in emergencies, and ensuring a safe, efficient work environment for patients and staff.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11am–7:30pm.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required (must have or equivalent).
• Graduate of an Anesthesia Technician program or related program.

Responsibilities

• Maintains anesthesia environment, equipment, and supplies to facilitate departmental functions.
• Keeps anesthesia workrooms and workstations clean and organized daily.
• Maintains supply stock in workrooms and at anesthesia workstations.
• Performs scheduled or needed changes of CO2 absorbers.
• Assists in preparation and draping for invasive monitoring and procedures.
• Provides perioperative technical support for delivery of patient care.
• Assists anesthesia staff during critical phases of anesthesia and emergencies.
• Adheres to universal precautions and safety requirements.
• Supports quality improvement and risk management activities.

Education
