Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Arlington Heights, IL, seeks an Anesthesia Tech for the midshift to support the anesthesia department. You will assist during pre-, intra-, and post-operative procedures and ensure equipment readiness.

The role is 40 hours per week, with shift Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:30pm. Education required is a High School Diploma or Associate Degree, plus 1 year of related experience; Lawson system experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree.
• 1 year of experience as Anesthesia Tech, Patient Care Tech, or Emergency Medical Tech, or an Associate's Degree with no clinical experience.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Ability to occasionally lift (patients and equipment) and push/pull heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Assist during pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative procedures under supervision.
• Set up pre-operative and procedural equipment and manage room turnover.
• Audit, stock and maintain anesthesia supply stations; calibrate POC equipment; ensure sterilization and documentation.
• Provide basic level equipment troubleshooting.
• Order supplies via the Lawson Material Management System.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Anesthesia Tech
• Location: Arlington Heights, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: 40 hours per week
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00am-7:30pm

What you will do:

• Under direction of supervisor, assist during pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative procedures
• Pre-operative, pre-procedure supply and equipment set-up and room turnover.
• Auditing, stocking and maintenance of anesthesia supply stations, calibration of POC equipment, high-level sterilization procedures and documentation
• Provide basic level equipment troubleshooting
• Order supplies via the Lawson Material Management System

What you will need:

• Education: High School Graduate or Associates Degree
• Certification: N/A
• Experience: High school Diploma with 1 year experience as either an Anesthesia Tech, Patient Care Tech, or Emergency Medical Tech or Associate's Degree if no clinical experience.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Ability to occasionally lift (patients and equipment), as well as push and/or pull heavy objects.
