You will clean, sterilize and maintain anesthesia equipment, prepare monitoring devices, assist with patient transport, and perform basic troubleshooting while upholding safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• 1 year experience as an anesthesia technician in an acute care setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
• Preferred: ASATT-approved program graduate.
• Preferred: ASATT-certified anesthesia technician.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sterilizes, disin-fection and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Maintain anesthesia medications, supplies and equipment.
• Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra and post anesthesia.
• Troubleshoot monitors and equipment and report defects or malfunctions.
• Assist with transport of patients, laboratory specimens, and blood as necessary.
• Operate Steris machine to sterilize equipment and keep records.
• Assist with setting up invasive & non-invasive monitoring and ventilator equipment in ORs & PACU.

Duties

The Anesthesia Technician I provides technical support for anesthesia services related to supportive anesthesia care within Perioperative Services, and ancillary departments as needed, to facilitate the smooth flow of surgical or special procedures.

Essential Duties

• Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders/stocks and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Maintain anesthesia medications, supplies and equipment according to needs and schedules.
• Cleans, organizes and maintains anesthesia workroom, supplies and equipment.
• Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra and post anesthesia with consideration and knowledge of age‑specific issues related to meeting the needs of the various patient groups.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment and reports defective equipment and equipment malfunctions appropriately/ immediately.
• Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Documents and maintains preventative maintenance and quality records includes equipment, supplies, and all other activities in the department.
• Assists with transport of patients, laboratory specimens, and pick up blood as necessary.
• Ability to travel between facilities or other treatment locations as necessary.
• Assists with setting up invasive & non‑invasive monitoring and ventilator equipment in ORs & PACU as needed.
• Operates Steris machine to sterilize equipment and keeps records according to policy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized/technical training Graduate of an American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) approved program.
• Certified Anesthesiology Technician (ASATT).

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date (Required within LA City only).

Compensation

The hourly rate range for this position is $30.50 - $51.85.
