Job summary

TCH Medical Center in Houston is seeking an Anesthesia Technician I to support anesthesia providers by preparing equipment and supplies for anesthesia procedures. You will help ensure safe and efficient care in a fast-paced surgical setting, including maintenance of monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in a hospital environment with patient care, and ASATT certification which can substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in hospital environment providing patient care.
• Two years of work experience as an anesthesia technician may substitute for the technical diploma.
• ASATT certification will substitute for the one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are searching for an Anesthesia Technician I -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. In this role they contribute to safe and efficient anesthesia care. They provide support to anesthesia in routine and complex surgical cases. Provide service by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists with procedures.
• Prepares and sets up equipment.
• Conducts other patient-related procedures
• Supervises the maintenance of anesthesia equipment. Inventories and stocks anesthesia supplies consistent with departmental demands. Maintains an inventory of properly functioning anesthesia equipment in designated area to track repairs. Organizes, cleans and neatly maintains all shelves and drawers where anesthesia supplies are kept. Retrieves equipment and inspects for problems. Maintains sterile supplies within expiration date.

Skills & Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or GED required

• A certification through the American Society of Anesthesia technologists & technicians (ASATT) will substitute for the
  one (1) year of required experience.
