Job summary

ThedaCare is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesiologists and CRNAs in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and delivery systems. The campus features 8 operating rooms and specializes in orthopedics, spine, and pain, with service across other hand/upper extremity and podiatry cases.

Schedule includes (4) 8-hour shifts per week varying between early and late day slots. Work locations span throughout the facility to support multiple sites; no weekends, no

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred; must be 18 years or older.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists anesthesia provider in delivery of anesthesia care including the setup of required and anticipated supplies and equipment, and maintenance and troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment.
  • Supports anesthetic delivery during critical events including induction, emergence, and crises situations (e.g., transfusion reactions, difficult airway, and fluid resuscitation).
  • Prepares and sets up rooms in locations throughout the facility with required anesthesia supplies and equipment.
  • Cleans anesthesia equipment between cases and restocks anesthesia supplies as necessary.
  • Conducts routine and periodic maintenance of anesthesia equipment, and reports defective equipment to Biomed while also informing the supervisor.

Education

About ThedaCare! Summary

The Anesthesia Technician assists anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems. Assists in the management of equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia and support of clinical delivery of anesthesia.

Job Description

Our campus has 8 OR's and specialize in Ortho, Spine and Pain but also do hand/upper extremity and podiatry cases.

SCHEDULE: (4) 8-hour shifts per week Hours vary between 6a-2:30p, 6:30a-3p, 7a-3:330p, 8a-4:30p, or 8:30a-5p Must be able to work all shifts listed as they will rotate May have to stay later until last case is finished. NO WEEKENDS NO HOLIDAYS NO CALL

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assists anesthesia provider in delivery of anesthesia care including the setup of required and anticipated supplies and equipment, and maintenance and troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED preferred Must be 18 years of age American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
