Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our surgical services team in Augusta, ME. The role supports anesthesia providers and perioperative staff by preparing equipment, supplies, and the patient-care environment for safe anesthesia care.

The technician will manage anesthesia equipment, assist with patient care tasks, troubleshoot equipment, and help maintain a clean, organized perioperative area. This is a full-time day-shift role with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year or more of clinical experience preferred.
• Active status on the Maine CNA Registry preferred.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative team.

Responsibilities

• Equipment management: cleaning and setting up anesthesia equipment.
• Patient support: assisting with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV insertion, airway management.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting: daily equipment maintenance and addressing malfunctions.
• Room turnover: facilitating efficient and safe room transitions.
