Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our surgical services team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. In this role, you will work closely with anesthesia providers and the perioperative team to prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and the patient-care environment for safe, efficient care.

Schedule is full-time, days, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, clinical experience, active Maine CNA

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year or more of clinical experience preferred.
• Active status on the State of Maine CNA Registry preferred.
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a fast-paced perioperative team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to safely perform physical requirements (standing, lifting, patient transport).

Responsibilities

• Equipment management: Cleaning and setting up anesthesia equipment.
• Patient support: Assisting with assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, IV, invasive lines, and airway management.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting: Daily equipment maintenance and addressing malfunctions.
• Room turnover: Facilitating efficient and safe room transitions.
