Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesia providers across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative stages. You will prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, assist with labs, and resupply critical items for the care team.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, performing point-of-care tests, and assisting during codes. The role requires collaboration, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a dynamic perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED that meets the education requirement from the College of American Pathologists for point of care lab testing.
• 1 year or more experience as an Anesthesia Technician or comparable position in healthcare.
• BLS Care Provider certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and push/pull 60+lbs; continuous walking.
• Effective communications, teamwork, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Verify anesthesia supplies and equipment are in the assigned rooms; replace tanks as needed.
• Set up specialty equipment when requested; prepare IVs when requested.
• Provide additional supplies and equipment as needed; perform point of care lab tests; assist during codes.
• Clean and disinfect anesthesia equipment; resupply machine and cart; run leak tests; resupply medications.
