Job summary

Shriners Children's in the United States is seeking an anesthesia technician to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain anesthesia machines and related equipment, ensuring operational status and safety for procedures. You will transport patients, assist the anesthesiologist, stock and organize carts and supply rooms, and help keep the operating room clean and ready for the next case.

A High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Certification highly preferred/desired.

Job Description

The Anesthesia technician is responsible for the orderly and efficient set-up, trouble shooting, and maintenance of all anesthesia machines, monitors, carts, general equipment (e.g. laryngoscopes), specialized equipment (fiberoptic bronchoscopes and video system) malignant hyperthermia cart and difficult intubation cart. The anesthesia technician is responsible for placing the anesthesia machines in operational status, transports patients as necessary; assists Anesthesiologist in duties outside OR and maintains neat, clean, orderly and systematic anesthesia work room.
