Job summary

Salem Health in Salem, Oregon, is seeking a dedicated anesthesia technician to support our operating and procedural environments. You will ensure anesthesia equipment and supplies are ready for each case and collaborate with a perioperative team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

You will set up and troubleshoot machines, assist with medication administration, manage inventory, and help transport patients in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or two years of direct Anesthesia Technician experience in an acute hospital setting may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and patient monitoring equipment in all operating and procedural rooms to ensure readiness for each case.
  • Retrieve blood products and prepare, assemble, and operate cell saver and rapid infuser equipment following department competencies and procedural guidelines.
  • Perform mechanical administration of medications under the direction and in the presence of a credentialed licensed provider.
  • Assist with patient transport and maintain a calm, organized presence in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage inventory of anesthesia supplies, restock medications and equipment, and place orders to maintain par levels.
  • Identify safety hazards, communicate clinical priorities, and collaborate closely with the patient care team to ensure smooth surgical workflows.
  • Demonstrate competency in EKG monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition to support patient safety.

Education

Associate degree in Anesthesia Technologist program
BLS certification
ACLS certification (must obtain within 30 days of hire)

Schedule: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday

Required qualifications
  • Associate degree - Graduate of an Anesthesia Technologist program.Two years of direct Anesthesia Technician experience in an acute hospital setting may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardio Life Support - Required within 30 days of hire.
