Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson, NJ, seeks an ancillary support technician for the Anesthesia department to ensure equipment is functioning, maintained and clean, and to stock supplies.

The role requires basic post-secondary education, BLS certification within 3 months, ACLS/PALS through the American Heart Association, and preferred relevant experience. The position is full-time and on-site at St. Joseph's University Medical Center, with comprehensive benefits.

Job description

Responsible for providing ancillary support to the Anesthesiologists by ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, maintained and clean. Provides and ensures the department is stocked with supplies. Provides on-call coverage for Open Heart Support.

Qualifications

Work requires the level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of two or three years of Education beyond high school or equivalent. Relevant experience preferred. Work requires the ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles. Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain Hospital policies and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within (3) months of hire.

BLS (Basic Life Support) required within (3) months of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association.
