Job summary

Shriners Children’s is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to ensure orderly and efficient setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of anesthesia machines, monitors, carts, and related equipment.

The role supports Anesthesiologists, assists with transports and room turnover, and helps keep the anesthesia work area clean and organized. Prior related experience is preferred, and a high school diploma or GED is required.

• Maintain the OR anesthesia carts and machines.
• Assist with room turnover.
• Maintain, stock and clean anesthesia OR cabinets and workroom.
• Stock medication drawer, check for outdated drugs.

• Dispose/replace trash bags on carts.
• Order supplies.
• Take specimens to lab.

Job Description

The Anesthesia technician is responsible for the orderly and efficient set-up, trouble shooting, and maintenance of all anesthesia machines, monitors, carts, general equipment (e.g. laryngoscopes), specialized equipment (fiberoptic bronchoscopes and video system) malignant hyperthermia cart and difficult intubation cart. The anesthesia technician is responsible for placing the anesthesia machines in operational status, transports patients as necessary; assists Anesthesiologist in duties outside OR and maintains neat, clean, orderly and systematic anesthesia work room.

Required Qualifications:

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
