Job summary

St. David's Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare, is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team and surgical staff in delivering safe, efficient care.

You will prepare and organize anesthesia equipment, transport carts, assist with patient transfers and positioning, monitor patients, and uphold infection control and privacy standards. This PRN opportunity rewards careful hands-on work in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

  • One year operating room experience as a Patient Care Technician is required.
  • One year experience as an Anesthesia Technician is preferred.
  • Experience with arterial and central lines is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize anesthesia equipment and supplies based on surgery schedules.
  • Set up, transport, and maintain anesthesia carts and equipment, ensuring cleanliness.
  • Assist patients with transfers, positioning, preparation, and monitoring devices.
  • Act quickly and confidently in emergencies to support patient safety.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection prevention practices.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an Anesthesia Technician, you will work closely with the anesthesia team and surgical staff to help every procedure go safely and smoothly. You will play a key role in keeping equipment ready, supporting patient care, and helping create a safe, comfortable environment throughout the surgical journey.

  • Preparing and organizing anesthesia equipment and supplies by reviewing surgery schedules and planning for what the team will need
  • Setting up, transporting, and maintaining anesthesia carts and equipment to keep all supplies clean and ready for safe use
  • Helping patients by assisting with transfers, positioning, preparation, and applying non-invasive monitoring devices
  • Acting quickly and confidently if an emergency happens
  • Keeping the environment clean and safe by following infection prevention and safety practices
  • Speaking openly with patients, families, and your team, always protecting patient privacy and advocating for patient rights

What qualifications you will need:

Experience
  • One year experience in operating room as a Patient Care Technician- required
  • One year experience as an Anesthesia Technician-preferred
  • Experience with arterial and central lines-preferred
Education
  • High School Graduate / GED
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support as per St. David's Healthcare policy
