Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in a surgical, medical or related healthcare setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months unless exempted by supervisor. See department policy.

Responsibilities

• Sets up monitoring equipment in the operating room, including the equipment and patient monitoring system.
• Assists in arterial/venous access, blood draws, ventilator checks, and intubation-related equipment.
• Calibrates pressures and recording systems to ensure accurate readings.
• Assists in transfers of patients to and from the OR and maintains data sheets.
• Maintains and stocks anesthesia carts and related supplies; troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
