Job summary

The University of Iowa's Department of Anesthesia seeks an Anesthesia Clinical Technician II to assist anesthesia providers before, during, and after procedures across MOR, SFCH, ASC OB-GYN, and satellite areas. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, on campus, full-time.

You will disinfect machines, stock carts, check equipment, and support anesthesia teams; candidates should have at least two years of direct patient care and be able to follow instructions, collect data, and calibrate

Qualifications

Two years of health care experience involving direct patient care including use of specialized medical equipment or equivalent education and experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, patients, and the public.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain accurate records.
Ability to operate and maintain highly specialized medical equipment and perform calibrations.
Job requires successful background checks and credential verification.

Responsibilities

Disinfect anesthesia machines, monitors, and equipment per infection control procedures.
Stock anesthesia carts and machines with supplies at end of each case and at day end.
Check equipment and report issues to Bioengineering.
Provide prompt, courteous customer support to patients and staff.
Run errands to facilitate anesthesia preparation and conduct.
