Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston is seeking an Equipment Technician to provide technical skills in the preparation of all anesthesia equipment used during surgical procedures. You will set up anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, and related supplies.

Responsibilities include assisting in preparing operating rooms, cleaning equipment after use, maintaining inventory, and following internal controls. A high school diploma, 3 years related experience, and current BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years related experience.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing operation rooms for a variety of anesthetic procedures.
• Sets up anesthetic machine, tracheal intubation, monitoring equipment, and other supplies peculiar to type of anesthesia.
• Cleans anesthetic machine and other equipment after completion of anesthesia.
• Maintains inventory records and orders, stores, and distributes anesthesia supplies, drugs and equipment.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
