Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Connecticut seeks an experienced Anesthesia Technician to manage equipment and support operating room procedures. The role requires coordinating daily departmental operations and ensuring proper function of anesthesia systems.

The incumbent will lead staff, participate in education, and apply Lean techniques to improve workflows, while maintaining high safety and quality standards in a busy surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years as an Anesthesia Technician.
• Minimum of five years in an operating room with high risk cases.
• Demonstrated management or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills, oral and written.
• Knowledge of anesthesia machines, vaporizers, ventilators, monitors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dept operations, staffing, supplies, workflow and budget.
• Monitor staff competence and coordinate required training.
• Oversee education participation and continuous improvement.
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve department goals.
• Support anesthesia delivery systems and related equipment during procedures.
