Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to work under the supervision of the Manager, Anesthesia Services. You will set up, inspect, maintain and calibrate anesthesia equipment and support critical care procedures to ensure accurate, reliable patient care.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork among nurses, surgical technicians, anesthesiologists, CRNAs and surgeons, and coordinating anesthesia and auto-transfusion services while keeping areas stocked,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 months patient care experience.
• At least 3 months experience with medical equipment.
• Certified Anesthesia Technician (AT) preferred but not required with equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Set up, check, inspect, maintain and calibrate anesthesia equipment.
• Provide diagnostic and treatment services during critical care situations.
• Coordinate Anesthesia and Auto transfusion services for surgical procedures.
• Maintain stock, cleanliness and organization in work areas.
• Demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude with patients, family, and staff.
