SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Anesthesia Clinical Assistant will report to the Nurse Manager of Perioperative Services and Director of Surgical Services and is an integral member of the anesthesia patient care team. The Anesthesia Clinical Assistant provides support and receives directives from the licensed Anesthesia provider in clinical settings. The Anesthesia Clinical Assistant will provide support for routine cases involving the Anesthesia Department by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before and during anesthesia. The Anesthesia Clinical Assistant lends clinical support during preoperative and interoperative procedures. The Anesthesia Clinical Assistant performs first level maintenance on anesthesia equipment and cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, stocks, orders, and maintains the routine anesthesia equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years experience as a perioperative assistant, Anesthesia Clinical Assistant or equivalent experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Problem Solving/Decision Making:
Demonstrates the ability to follow established and approved hospital policies and procedures. Makes decisions based on detailed procedures; technical aids generally available. Has clear cut alternatives available and usually follows a specific course of action.
Scope of Impact/Accountability:
Impact focused in immediate work area but may also affect closely related activities in other work units. Influence is indirect and supportive in nature. Accountability is restricted. Activities are based on established routines and responsibilities as well as those assigned by others.
Interpersonal Communication:
Demonstrates a broad range of communication skills and organizational abilities. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
