Job summary

US Fertility in Chicago on Chestnut seeks an Andrology Lab Technician Per Diem to support our Fertility Center of Illinois. The role focuses on processing semen samples and supporting ART procedures.

You will handle shipping, receiving, QC, and ensure proper sample custody while collaborating with physicians and lab staff.

Qualifications

• One year of laboratory experience is required.
• Experience with a chemistry analyzer is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field or MLT ASCP certification equivalent.
• Tissue culture experience and/or semen processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shipping, receiving, and disposition of frozen samples.
• Ordering and receiving lab supplies.
• Examine and process specimens for routine semen analysis.
• Perform counts for concentration and motility and histological techniques to identify leucocytes and morphology.
• Process semen for ART procedures and IUIs.
• Ensure proper sample collection, delivery and identification (chain of custody).
• Perform daily/monthly quality control procedures for media and equipment in the Andrology laboratory.
• Assist lab personnel and ensure the lab maintains accreditation.

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for an Andrology Lab Technician Per Diem to join our team at Fertility Center of Illinois in Chicago on Chestnut office. 361 W. Chestnut
Chicago, IL 60610 , Illinois.

• Schedule: Schedule varies as needed; typical hours are 2 weekend shifts per month 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and 1 holiday per year, weekday availability is a plus
• Compensation: $23.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the Andrology Lab Techwill:

• Shipping, receiving and disposition of frozen samples
• Ordering and receiving lab supplies
• Examine and process specimens for routine semen analysis
• Perform counts for concentration and motility, perform histological techniques for identifying leucocytes, immature germ cells and morphology
• Process semen for ART procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs)
• Assure proper sample collection, delivery and identification (chain of custody)
• Perform daily/monthly quality control procedures for media and equipment used in the Andrology laboratory
• Assist laboratory personnel in performing lab services in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and guidelines to ensure laboratory maintains accreditation

What You’ll Bring
