Job summary

US Fertility in Nashville, TN, seeks a Laboratory Assistant to join Ovation Fertility’s team. The role supports embryology workflows, processes samples, and maintains equipment while following SOPs. Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with occasional weekend and holiday coverage.

You will collaborate with physicians and embryologists, assist with IUI/semen analysis, track data, and help maintain lab integrity and patient care support tasks. Strong organizational skills required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required; life science bachelor preferred.
  • Prior lab experience desirable.
  • Experience in medical office and EMR helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tasks following SOPs and production directives.
  • Assist embryology procedures and semen analysis as directed.
  • Maintain labeling, media integrity, and data records.
  • Support patient care tasks and general office duties as needed.

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Ovation Fertility in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the ability to work approximately 6 weekends and 2 holidays per year

In this role, the Laboratory Assistant will:

  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), processing directives, production standards, policies, health and safety directives and regulations
  • Maintain flexibility for working hours as IVF processes are time-dependent; may include some weekend work in extreme needs
  • Support embryologists with all aspects of IVF processes as directed by the Senior Embryologists
  • Assist with andrology procedures such as IUI preparation and semen analysis, as well as assist with shipping and receiving of frozen specimens
  • Assist with maintaining integrity of media, collection, and semen processing data
  • Record and communicate oocyte collection, and maintain embryo production data records
  • Maintain accurate labeling and traceability of media and embryo production
  • Assist with lab maintenance; sanitize working areas and equipment; follow production inventory and LN2 management protocols; maintain processing equipment, glassware and plastic dishes and processing areas
  • Support patient care by answering and directing phone calls, organizing and scheduling appointments, organizing and coordinating meetings, and maintaining filing systems
  • Perform general office duties and all other tasks as requested by physicians, director and embryologists

Qualifications and Skills Include:
  • Associates degree required; Bachelors degree in a Life Science focus area preferred
  • Prior laboratory experience preferred
  • Experience in a medical office facility and using EMR systems is preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities, communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Tech savvy
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn at all times
