Job summary

Pinnacle Fertility in Arlington, VA is seeking an Andrologist/Endocrine Lab Technician to join our on-site team. This full-time role involves performing blood endocrine tests, semen analysis, and operating laboratory equipment, with a focus on accuracy and patient care.

The position requires a BS in Biology or Chemistry, basic lab experience, and strong attention to detail. Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, onsite; competitive hourly pay and full benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum of a 'B' average in relevant laboratory science courses.
  • New graduates encouraged to apply; 1-2 years lab experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with microscopes, aseptic techniques, and hazardous specimen handling.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood endocrine testing and hormone assays.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment including the Toso machine.
  • Collect, process, and analyze blood samples for hormone testing with accuracy.
  • Conduct semen analysis including count, motility, morphology, and viability.
  • Adhere to SOPs, OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA standards for quality and compliance.
  • Maintain inventory and assist with QC/QA/QI programs.
  • Support embryologists with preparatory work and record-keeping.
  • Educate patients on specimen collection procedures.

The Andrologist/Endocrine Lab Technician plays an essential role in the fertility journey by providing exceptional care and laboratory expertise to support patients and their treatment plans. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the Andrologist/Endocrine Lab Technician ensures accurate testing and processing, contributing directly to patient care and outcomes.

We are seeking an Andrologist/Endocrine Lab Technician to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility - Virginia located in Arlington, VA. This is a full-time, onsite role, working Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform blood endocrine testing, including hormone assays for FSH, LH, prolactin, estradiol, testosterone, and related reproductive hormones.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment, including the Toso machine, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Collect, process, and analyze blood samples for hormone testing, providing timely and accurate results for patient assessments.
  • Conduct comprehensive semen analysis, including sperm count, motility, morphology, viability, and preparation for procedures such as insemination and cryopreservation.
  • Adhere to laboratory SOPs, OSHA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and CLIA standards for quality and compliance.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, assist with equipment maintenance, and participate in quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and quality improvement (QI) programs.
  • Support embryologists with preparatory work, patient/specimen identification, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Educate patients on specimen collection procedures and provide clear instructions.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and practices, including semen analysis, anti-sperm antibody testing, sperm cryopreservation, and endocrinology testing.
  • Participate in clinical research projects related to reproductive endocrinology and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Track patient progress and collaborate with the clinical team to ensure adherence to treatment plans.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Education:
    • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
    • Minimum of a "B" average in relevant laboratory science courses.
  • Experience:
    • New graduates are encouraged to apply
    • 1-2 years of laboratory experience outside of academic coursework is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with compound microscopes and aseptic techniques, and ability to handle hazardous specimens.
    • Completion of on-the-job training and any required certification exams.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Hourly Rate: $26.00 - $30.00 (final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications).
