Android Tech LeadLocation: Doral, Florida (Hybrid)Duration: 6 Month Rolling Contract Rate: $70-$80 Per Hour W2

Role OverviewThe Android Mobile Lead is a platform-level technical leader responsible for enabling high-quality Android feature delivery. This role operates across teams to provide guidance at key technical checkpoints, maintaining engineering consistency, reliability, and platform health. The position involves hands-on coding, architecture and design discussions, and code reviews, with approximately 20-30% of the week dedicated to coding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with assigned Pods at technical checkpoints to improve feasibility, quality, and predictability.
  • Review feature approaches, technical designs, dependencies, estimates, and implementation risks.
  • Validate Android constraints, non-functional requirements, and product assumptions before development.
  • Consult on complex implementation areas such as lifecycle, networking, persistence, background work, performance, and security.
  • Own and promote Android coding standards, best practices, reusable patterns, and consistent implementation approaches.
  • Review high-risk, shared, and complex changes for quality, maintainability, security, performance, testability, and consistency.
  • Improve CI/CD reliability, build performance, test stability, static analysis, documentation, and onboarding.
  • Monitor crashes, ANRs, performance, regressions, network reliability, background behavior, and dependency health.
  • Mentor Android engineers, strengthen technical ownership, and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on Technical Lead experience is required, with 8-10 years of total experience.
  • Technical Skills:Strong hands-on Kotlin and Android SDK experience.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Jetpack libraries.
  • Proficiency with Kotlin Coroutines/Flow and concurrency.
  • Knowledge of MVVM and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Experience with REST APIs, using tools such as Retrofit or OkHttp.
  • Familiarity with Room or comparable local persistence solutions.
  • Experience with Websockets.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with caching, offline, and synchronization strategies.
  • Knowledge of Navigation, deep links, and app lifecycle.
  • Experience with WorkManager or background processing.
  • Familiarity with unit, integration, and UI testing.
  • Proficiency with Gradle, Git, PR workflows, and CI/CD.
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or Compose Multiplatform.
  • General knowledge of iOS is a plus.
