Job summary

Machina Cognita Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer - Android to join our on-site team in Northern Virginia. You will design, develop, and maintain native Android applications while collaborating with product managers and engineers to translate client needs into innovative solutions.

This role requires 1–5 years of experience and strong Java/Kotlin skills. You will work across the full software development life cycle, participate in architecture discussions, and travel to client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 1–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in Java and Kotlin.
• Proficient in ObjectBox, SQLite, or another mobile database framework.
• Proficient in version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Build proof-of-concept prototypes and client demonstrations to win contract bids and drive new business opportunities.
• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
• Monitor system performance and identify and resolve issues to improve reliability.
• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services.
• Run pilot implementations, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate client needs into innovative solutions.
• Travel to client destinations to facilitate product delivery and provide ongoing support and optimization.
