Job summary

Google is seeking an Android Platform Developer Relations Engineer in New York, NY. The role blends hands-on coding with community advocacy, working with developers at conferences and online, and feeding insights back to Product and Engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have strong Android experience, expertise in Kotlin, and proven ability to mentor others while presenting technical content to large audiences. Equity and a bonus target are part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
3 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant) or equivalent technical experience
Experience building for Android using Kotlin
Experience with UI development

Responsibilities

Present technical sessions and workshops at conferences, meetups, and developer events.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver relevant developer narratives to Android Developers.
Understand Android development in an agentic coding era and drive high-quality input for models to write idiomatic Android code.
Become an expert in one or more foundational Android areas and identify opportunities to create better products for users.
Work with external developers, generate insights, create guidance, write example code, author blog posts, design APIs, propose product changes, influence plans, discover stories, and inspire developers.
