Google New York, NY, USA is hiring an Android Platform Developer Relations Engineer. The role combines community engagement with hands-on Android development, writing sample code, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to improve Google technologies for developers.

You will present at events, work with stakeholders across teams, and help shape the developer narrative around Android platforms and tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
Experience building for Android using Kotlin.
Experience with UI development.

Responsibilities

Present technical sessions and workshops at conferences, meetups, and developer events.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver the most relevant developer narrative to Android Developers.
Understand how Android development works in an agentic coding era and drive high quality input to ensure models can effectively write idiomatic and performant Android code
Become an expert in one or more foundational Android areas, and identify opportunities for Google and developers to create better products for users.
Work with external developers, generate developer insights, create guidance, write example code, author blog posts, design APIs, propose product changes, influence engineering plans, discover developer stories, and inspire developers.
